Catch Attack On Titan: The Exhibition

Sunday, March 6, 2022 / No Comments

If you're an avid fan of the series Attack on Titans, then make sure to not miss out on the ongoing AOT themed exhibition at Art Science Museum.

This dark fantasy series has taken over the hearts of many, and is now being showcased in Singapore through over 150 art works, by the one and only Hajime Isayama. Be prepared to be awed by Isayama's craft and art style that he has mastered throughout the years.

There are many interesting components in the exhibition - one being a phototaking area, of course. With a green screen backdrop, you can leave with a souvenier from this one-of-a-kind experience, featuring you and gorgeous artwork from the anime in the background.

Remember all that angst in the series, all the alliances and betrayal? Well similarly, when you step foot inside, you have to pick a side: one inside the walls, and one outside.

Follow the stories of varying characters as you delve deeper in. There will be stunning artworks, exclusive content, and intriguing story details that you have never seen nor heard of before.

And don't miss out (you really can't) on the terrifying head statue of the Colossal Titan, crafted on an accurate scale of its actual size. Marvel at the intricate details put into this and remember to take a selfie with the mighty Titan.

Of course, what's an Attack On Titan Exhibition without showcasing the show's towering creatures? Enjoy a gigantic display of the nine main Titans and their overwhelming power, which is both fascinating and horrifying. The rocks and debris mounting from the ground are there to create an illusion of the actual setting and environment of the series. If you have ever fantasized about your house crushed into ruins by massive giants, then well, here's your best shot.

There is also a section displaying artefacts from the series, ranging from the mysterious basement key to the Survey Corps cape. Lay your eyes on other objects like Mikasa's treasured scarf, as well as Annie's ring. This might be a perfect reference for cosplayers as well!

A little note - this exhibition does contain spoilers for the anime fans, like showcasing content from The Rumbling. As such, only proceed if you don't mind the reveal.

Interested in the thought process behind the creation of Attack On Titans? You can get a glimpse of that in The Final Interview Room with Hajime Isayama, through screened interviews, rough drafts and sketches displayed in the exhibition.

Fun fact (and potential spoiler): Did you know that originally, Sasha's death was so horrendous that Isayama's editor wept in the bathroom after seeing it? Because of that, Isayama changed his mind. So thank you to the editor!

When you have reached the end of the exhibition, you are greeted with a 20min showcase of the anime seasons to relinquish on this masterpiece. Afterwards, you can browse through the merchandise store and either leave with a yearning or your pockets empty.

This exhibition will expire after 3 July, so make sure to grab your tickets before then! Don't underestimate the thirst of other avid Attack On Titan fans, because tickets are selling out fast.

With that being said, I personally am elated to see that the anime scene is becoming more and more apparent in Singapore. This exhibition, along with the screening of the Jujutsu Kaisen movie, are seemingly important stepping stones for our country to bring in more anime-related campaigns and events.

Hopefully, fingers-crossed, I will be writing more of such articles in the near future.

Cosplayers of Instagram

Thursday, October 28, 2021 / No Comments

Cosplayers play a huge part in the anime community as well as each and every fandom. They bring our favorite characters to life and make their own cosplays interesting and different from the rest. With the rise of social media such as popular video app TikTok and Instagram, it is now very easy to discover any different cosplayers around the world.

As someone who is constantly active on Instagram, I often come across different cosplayers that appear on my explore page and their unique cosplays and photo editing skills. Having said that, here are 10 of my favorite cosplayers who you may or may not recognize.

10. hakuyacoser

The first cosplay I've came across of her was her Lisa Lisa (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) cosplay, although her Fushiguro Megumi (Jujutsu Kaisen) cosplay was what made her more well known. If you go through her Instagram page, you would be able to see her other cosplays such as Oikawa Toru from Haikyu!!, Bakugo Katsuki from My Hero Academia, Denji from popular manga Chainsaw Man and Chrollo Lucilfer from Hunter x Hunter.

What intrigued me was her makeup style, which isn't as harsh as compared to some other cosplayers when it comes to male characters. Because of that, it makes her cosplays look more simple and natural any yet pleasing to the eye.

You can see more of her cosplays on her instagram page as well as TikTok.

9. susuwatar.i

If you are a fan of popular series Demon Slayer, you'd be pleased to know that this cosplayer has quite a few cosplays of Kanroji Mitsuri, Tokito Muchiro as well as Hashibira Inosuke.

Some of her other works that are my favorites includes Shizuku from Hunter x Hunter, Bruno Bucciarati from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Tomie from the Junji Ito collection as well as Yosano Akiko and Dazai Osamu from Bungou Stray Dogs.

Recently, she has also done cosplays of Zenin Maki, Gojo Satoru and Itadori Yuji from Jujutsu Kaisen. What I love about her cosplays is that no matter which character she cosplays, she manages to pull them off easily.

8. alexy_sky_

A cosplayer and makeup artist from Brasil, this cosplayer has done many different characters which can be found on her Instagram page. From Toga Himiko from My Hero Academia to Haruno Sakura from Naruto, this cosplayer has done countless cosplays of different characters, including characters from games like Ahri, Evelynn and Kai'Sa from League Of Legends and different Geshin Impact Characters such as Hutao and Jean.

If you are a Naruto Fan, you can also check out the various Naruto Characters she has cosplayed such as Anko, Hinata, Sakura, Sarada, Kushina, Kakashi, Kurenai, Kairin, Kunoichi, Kagua, Neji, Temari, Tsunade, Tenten, Yugito, Rin as well as Itachi.

Another note-worthy aspect of this cosplayer is her photo editing apart from her cosplays. She edits her photos in a way to make the cosplay more accurate and unique.

7. kleinerpixel

Another cosplayer with talented makeup skills, this cosplayer has done many different characters such as Misa Amane fro Death Note, Yuno Gasai from Future Diary, and Haru from Beastars.

Kakegurui fans can look forward to seeing many cosplays of her as different Kakegurui chraracters like Sumeragi Itsuki, Ikishima Midari, Yomozuki Runa,  Yumemite Yumemi, Kirari Momobami, Yueko Jabami as well as Mary Saotome.

Apart from Kakegurui, most of her cosplays of Demon Slayer characters can also be found. One of her more popular Demon Slayer cosplay would be the spider mother, which garnered her quite a number of new fans subsequently.

She has also done cosplays of characters from games like Genshin Impact, Black Desert, League of Legends and Dragon Raja.

Besides her photo editing skills to give her cosplays a special effect, this cosplayer also runs a Youtube channel where she posts cosplay makeup tutorials for anyone to follow. If you are an aspiring cosplayer and need some inspiration, you can check out her Youtube channel for makeup tutorials of even characters like Dabi from My Hero Academia.

6. angry_jeager

If you are a fan of Shingeki No Kyojin, more commonly known as Attack On Titan, This cosplayer is for you.

True to his Instagram handle, this nineteen-year-old cosplayer has cosplayed different Attack On Titan characters like Eren Yeager, Zeke Yeager, Levi Ackerman, Jean Kristen, and Armin Arlert.

Although he has cosplayed other characters such as 707 from Mystic Messenger and Todoroki Shoto from My Hero Academia, he is more well known for his Attack On Titan cosplays.

If you're interested, do check out his Instagram page for more Attack On Titan cosplays.

5. zumiii_zhr

Love Jujutsu Kaisen? Then check out this Japanese cosplayer. Although he has cosplayed different characters such as Adam, Reki and Langa from Sk8 the infinity, as well as a few other characters from Hypnosis Mic, his Jujutsu Kaisen cosplays easily stand out the most.

This can be seen from his Geto Suguru cosplay, which is personally my favorite because of the accuracy of his cosplays. Apart from Geto, he has also done cosplays of Gojo Satoru as well as Fushiguro Toji, who have garnered many fans ever since his first manga appearance.

The accuracy of his cosplays can also be found in his Fushiguro Toji cosplay, which left many of his followers in awe. Don't believe me? Head over to his Instagram page and see it for yourself.

4. uzileks

A cosplayer who loves hamsters, Uzi is a cosplayer who has a unique makeup look. If you scroll through her Instagram page, her makeup would definitely be the first thing you notice. Unlike other cosplayers, Uzi has a makeup style that enables her to have doll-like features.

She has cosplayed many characters, such as characters from Kakeguruu, Demon Slayer, and Dangaronpa. At a glance, her colorful and eye catching feed is bound to pull you in. Even if it doesn't, her makeup style is bound to.

Apart from cosplaying, Uzi is also a big fan of gaming and usually plays games like Apex Legends. From time to time, she entertains her followers with updates on things related to gaming. if you're lucky enough, you might even catch a glimpse of her setup and gaming clips that she posts on her stories.

3. cospoxia

Going by the name Ann / Li Ming, this talented cosplayer has over 96.8k followers on her Instagram page. If you are a big fan of popular miHoYo game, Genshin Impact, you would be thrilled to find that she has cosplayed different characters from the game, such as Xiao, Diluc, Zhongli, Kaeya, Thoma and Ningguang.

Besides Genshin Imapct characters, you can also find other characters from different video games like Resident Evil, NieR Replicant and Final Fantasy VII on her page.

Not only do her cosplays have a unique touch, her photo editing skills are also to die for. With bright, focused and stunning visuals, you would instantly drawn to the intensity of her cosplays. Besides her amazing cosplays, her dedication and discipline is also something to look up to as she juggles her studies while producing such quality content for her fans. Every now and then, Ann would also feed her fans some behind the scenes of her photo shoot, so do keep a lookout for them on her story. If you ever want to support her, be sure to look through her cosplay prints that are available for sale.

2. villain_lady

Big fan of villains? If that's the case, you might have heard of villain lady, also known as Klaudia in real life. This female cosplayer specializes in villains, courtesy of her Instagram handle.

If you have followed her long enough or have just recently heard of her, you wouldn't miss out her cosplays that scarily resembles each character she cosplays. One of her more popular cosplay would be Hisoka Morrow from HunterxHunter. On her Instagram, you would be able to find numerous posts of Hisoka. Besides the infamous character of HunterxHunter, Klaudia has also cosplayed characters such as Dio Brando from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Oh Sangwoo from manhwa Killing Stalking, Ryomen Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen, Hanma Shuji from up and rising popular anime & manga series Tokyo Revengers and even Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

Besides having amazing content that will leave you wanting more, this cosplayer also frequently interacts with her followers, creating a cozy fanbase of 795K on Instagram alone. Occasionally, she also posts behind the scenes of her cosplays. If you're lucky, you might catch them on her story.

1. Fukuwakuro

Boasting a following of 41.2K fans on Instagram, this Italian cosplayer has done different characters from even lesser known shows such as Hypnosis Mic, and Dramatical Murder On their Instagram page, you can view seemingly accurate cosplays of characters such as Ash Lynx from Banana Fish, Undertaker, Joker and Grell Sutcliff from Black Butler, different Kimetsu No Yaiba charcters such as Giyu, Tanjiro and Zenitsu.

Besides having a majority of Black Butler content, they also have many cosplays of Jujutsu Kaisen characters such as Zenin Maki, Fushiguro Toji, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru. Most recently, they have also joined the Genshin Impact fandom and cosplayed popular Genshin characters like Diluc, Xiao and Zhongli.

One of the most unique thing of this cosplayer is how they incorporated their own special touch with their piercings in most of their cosplays. While most cosplayers choose to follow the book and recreate each character as accurately as possible, this cosplayer would add their own touch to each character, which somehow seamlessly blend together.

That is all for this article, and i hope you enjoyed looking at some of my favorite cosplayers of Instagram. If any of them captures your attention, do check out their Instagram page.

Until next time,

Yushiko School Uniform

Thursday, July 29, 2021 / No Comments

After designing a set of school uniform for Miwa Haruka, I decided that Yushiko also needs a revamp set of attire. So I took out my notebook and pencil and sketched away.

Yushiko ゆしこ school uniform features two primary colours; red and blue. The short pleated skirt is blue, accentuated with 2 red patterns in an upward sloping design; about 45 degrees. Pairing the blazer is a piece of white-coloured shirt with red bow tie. There is an option for a red tie in place of the bow tie. Yushiko ゆしこ will also wear a violet-coloured high knee socks, complete with a pair of charcoal black shoes.

Again, I had to remind myself not to be over zealous and stuff too many elements into the school uniform or else it doesn't look like one.

1st draft

Most of the school skirts that we see in anime are either plain or checkered-design. I wanted to create something that was different. I incorporated two simple stripes that sloped upwards to the right, on the right half of the skirt. It tapered towards the end, giving it a somewhat sharp appearance. If you look at the drawing, the top portion of the stripe is thinner than the bottom.

On days where Yushiko doesn't feel like wearing the bow tie, she can put on the normal tie. I incorporated our 'Moo Chan' logo in both ties and also the blazer.

Finalised design. I sent the design to our resident illustrator to finish off digitally.

Cute chibi version of Yushiko

Our resident illustrator did an wonderful job in drawing Yushiko in her new school uniform. The chibi version looks exceptionally cute.

I hope you like our new school uniform design for Yushiko ゆしこ. Let us know what you think.

Miraku Chan the Girl Oyster

Wednesday, July 21, 2021 / No Comments

Miraku Chan is a girl oyster with a cyan-coloured body and a butter-yellow shell. One day while she was sleeping under the sea, a little pink shell floated near her and got lodged onto her head. She tried but could not remove the little pink shell. As time goes by, she grew to like the pink shell more and more. It made her look beautiful and 'spe-shell'.

Miraku likes to cook and doll herself up. She is also very positive in life.

How her name came about:

美(mi)- Kanji for beauty, gorgeousness, which is associated with her trait of being vain, and of course, being a pretty female oyster as well

楽(raku)- Kanji for happy and carefree. When you pronounce “Mi-ra-ku”, it reminds you of the English word ‘miracle’, which she actually is, as Kaki chan (out of millions of fishes) meets a new miracle!

Miraku Chan's birthday is on 23 March 2019.

This was the first time Kakichan meets Miraku Chan while sipping milk tea.

Virtual Youtubers: Nijisanji Members Highlight

Thursday, July 30, 2020 / No Comments
まいど~~(Welcome~~)

NIJISANJI Group

It's been a while since my

Kiryu Coco's skit in her 3D stream

Tokoyami Towa performing for her audience

However, if the idol-like Hololive doesn't appeal to you, I'm here today to introduce another VTuber agency to you called NIJISANJI! Without further notice, let's see what NIJISANJI is like!

Ever since the group debuted in early 2018, it has amassed massive amounts of support as well as debuted many VTubers under their group. As of today, there are over 100 active VTubers in NIJISANJI and the number only continues to grow. NIJISANJI has even expanded to other regions in the world, namely, NIJISANJI EN, NIJISANJI KR and NIJISANJI ID.

NIJISANJI has a bigger scene in the VTuber industry due to them recruiting more frequently than other groups as well as that they have opened applications to male VTubers as well. With these many VTubers, I'm sure that you'll be able to find the one that appeals to you most so that you can enjoy watching and supporting them! Just like before, I'll pick some VTubers and introduce them to you so that you can give them a try in watching their content. With that said, let's get to the first one!

Himawari Honma

Himawari Honma

Debuted in July 2018, Himawari Honma has garnered a lot of fans the past two years. Formerly of NIJISANJI Gamers, the group was annexed into NIJISANJI itself over time.

Himawari Honma is the epitome of cheerful itself. From her debut till today, she has maintained her easygoing and outgoing vibe. In her streams, she's always being cheerful and bright, bringing smiles to her live audience. Even to other VTuber's under NIJISANJI, she has been often praised of being fun to hang out with. I can see why too! I seldom get bored watching her stream just because she's so cheerful. It's like watching a younger sister play games. Just like her name, Himawari is exactly like a sunflower, being able to make someone else happy through watching her. A bright and everlasting entertainment.

Himawari takes a sudden break from a horror game to appreciate a "trumpet"

Happy Himawari after winning a game

She usually streams herself playing video games that are light to watch such as Smash, Donkey Kong and Minecraft. She also does collaborations with other VTubers sometimes where they either play games or have entertaining and funny conversations with each other. For me, while I do not watch her stream on a schedule, I try to whenever I can because my day would get at least a little bit better from all the positive energy that she leaks out. She's also infamously known to be a klutz sometimes, just like when she mistook the sun and the moon to be the same entity! Here are some of her highlights to get you started.

A cute mistake

Tsukino Mito

Tsukino Mito

One of the first VTuber to debut under NIJISANJI, Tsukino Mito has long made her mark on the VTuber industry, Having amassed a total of more than half a million Youtube subscribers, she takes the cake for being the most popular Youtuber in the NIJISANJI group. And with justification!

In her profile, she's portrayed as a high school student. Although your first impression of her might be that she is a tsundere and seiso(innocent and wholesome), she's actually far off from that! She's very outspoken and direct, with no fear of her words getting clipped out of context. Tsukino Mito also plays games that are either very low in quality or in old age, garnering amusement from her fans. It's all because of this that I enjoy watching her stream. After a while, you realize that she's just like one of us, trying to have fun and entertain others. Because of this, I never get bored watching her because I can relate to her as much as any of her fans can due to a sense of familiarity she has subconsciously created.

Tsukino Mito playing a game I nor any other listeners have seen before

Tsukino Mito openly speaks her mind of her colleague who was late to a collab

As previously said, she usually streams herself playing games that most likely hasn't seen light, for pure entertainment. These streams are usually packed with comedy because of her acting out from what you'd expect from an innocent-looking high school student. She does, however, play a lot of gacha games, specifically The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors. If you're looking for someone comedic as well as down to earth, Tsukino Mito might be a VTuber that you might want to watch!

Inui Toko

Inui Toko

Inui Toko debuted over a year ago on March 2019 alongside Lize Helesta and Ange Katrina. Even after only one year, she has managed to attract almost 300,000 subscribers, an impressive feat. Let's see why there are 300,000 fans of Inui Toko!

Inui Toko is someone that if I had to choose to be a close friend with, it would be her. Her personality is that of a laid-back and easygoing individual. She's also very witty and someone great to talk to, as can be seen from her marshmallow-reading (Q&A) streams. Moreover, she has a unique and melodious voice! For example, she has done covers of many songs and they all have garnered massive support from fans. For me, whenever I'm working on stuff on my PC, I'll have her stream open in the background while I work. Occasionally, I'll chuckle at her comeback towards a certain marshmallow, and sometimes open the tab back up on the rare occasion that she does or says something cute. Overall, she's definitely one of my favourite VTuber if I had to name one.

Inui Toko's marshmallow-reading stream

Surprisingly, as a VTuber, she doesn't play that much of a variety of games. Her streams are mostly that of talking with her audience while she has her game open. She also often does marshmallow-reading streams. If you're someone that appreciates the slow pace of Inui Toko's conversation with her audience, I can recommend no one better than her!

Hayato Kagami

Hayato Kagami

Marking this month as his debut anniversary, Hayato Kagami debuted on 6 July 2019. For the past year, his streams have been a part of my daily life lately, with me almost not missing a single stream of his. As to why I'll explain.

Hayato Kagami introduces himself as the CEO of a company. From what I have seen, Hayato-san is an outgoing yet cautious individual. Outgoing in a sense that he's someone that would break an awkward atmosphere in a newly-met group. Cautious in a sense where even with close friends, he would address them with honorifics. Just from that alone, I can tell he's a respectful individual. Other than that, he is probably my favourite male VTuber because if I ever became one, I want to be like him. Confident, respectful and fun to be with.

Hayato Kagami-san meets his fans on Animal Crossing

Hayato Kagami-san getting teased while playing Apex Legends

As for his streams, he usually plays what interests him the most. Like for example, as of now, he's currently doing a playthrough of Dark Souls Remastered. There's no one set game that he'll play. From FPS games like Titanfall and Apex, to sandbox ARK, and even Animal Crossing. He even does streams where he's singing, or even just talking to his audience, which are the ones I look forward to the most. And of course, another small reason I watch him is that his voice is smooth and pleasing to hear. Hayato-san is what I would consider more of a Twitch streamer rather than a VTuber because of his sporadic game choices. But that's exactly what I like about him, he plays a different game every day but still manages to keep everyone entertained.

Shizuka Rin

Shizuka Rin

Shizuka Rin was also one of the first VTubers under NIJISANJI, debuting along with Tsukino Mito as well as Higuchi Kaede. Along with the other two, they have a term for their group called "JK Gumi"(high school girl group). Most importantly, she was my first ever VTuber that I watch and my favourite VTuber ever.

Shizurin (her nickname), is a mature and demure individual. She's always really calm in her streams, never raging or screaming in frustration. Well, while she's not playing horror games, that is. Her streams are generally really laid-back and relaxed, with no specific goal in mind. Coupled with the fact that she has a really smooth and "onee-san" like voice, Shizurin's streams are the best to watch late at night for entertainment and relaxation. More often than not, I always find myself opening her stream whenever she starts one, regardless of the time. A new stream from Shizurin to me is like an episode of a really interesting drama to others.

Shizuka Rin tries her best in FFXIV

As for her streams, Shizurin mostly plays Final Fantasy XIV Online and Dead By Daylight. As an avid player of FFXIV myself, I'm glad that I can enjoy FFXIV even when I'm not playing the game myself! Other than that, whenever there's a game that spikes her curiosity, she starts playing that game regularly for a while. As much as I would like to hear her sing with her fabulous voice, she rarely streams herself karaoke, unlike others. But that's fine, I'll still be watching her streams regularly because she's my favourite VTuber!

And that's it for NIJISANJI members highlights! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and the videos of VTubers as well! I do hope that you have found your new favourite VTuber so that you can enjoy watching and supporting them anytime! If you're new to VTubers, be sure to

Happy watching VTubers!
