Yumeiro Cast: Scouting

Sunday, January 8, 2017 / No Comments
Yumeiro Cast is a game of events and scouting. While using 5 gems to refill your AP is not worth it, you can save up to 20 gems for a single scout or 200 gems for a roll with at least a guaranteed SR. Usually, I would do the scout with 200 gems as doing a 10-roll would typically have a higher UR chance. What do I mean by this? Just read on and you'll know~
Scouting in YumeCast isn't as simple as pressing the button. You will have to swipe the clipboard too. Once the cover page is flipped, you will be greeted by different colored paper below -- silver (Rs), gold/yellow (SRs) or rainbow (UR).
Other than gems, scouting  can be done with UR dream tickets or SR+ dream tickets. These can be obtained through events. UR dream tickets will ensure that the player will be able to get a single UR from it; while SR+ dream tickets can give either a SR or UR from each draw.

As there can be many different scouting boxes for the tickets, make sure that the URs you get are part of the box before pressing to scout!
This is the scout for normal scouting tickets and you will get at least a Rare rarity card from it.
There are event scouts almost every event and you can get the event UR or SR from it. These event cards will give an increased event points. Each UR will give +0.50 and each SR will give +0.15. The maximum is capped at +0.20.
Single scouts get URs at 3% while doign a 10-pull at 200 gems would give URs at 20% rate for the very first card. What this means is that for the first of the 10 cards, the UR rate is 20% while SR rate is 80% (guaranteed SR and above for the scout). After which, the rest of the 9 cards will revert to 3% UR, 15% SR and 82% R.

This is a higher chance of getting a scout better than 1 guaranteed SR scout as there are no card flipping. The only possibility of getting a 1 SR scout is if you get all Rs for the remaining 9 scouts. As such, it only includes one scenario:
1) SR + All other cards as Rares

Compared to this, there is a higher possibility of 1 SR scout in Love Live SIF because it includes 2 scenarios:
1) All Rares, and 1 flips into a SR
2) A proper 1 SR scout with your own rng (without Klab forcibly flipping cards into SR)

Hence if your rng is enough to get a proper SR with your own rng for the remaining 9 cards in your scout in YumeCast, you are guaranteed to get a scout better than a single SR. Unfortunately, in SIF, if you get the same scout (a single SR based on your own RNG), Klab will consider that SR as your guaranteed SR, and wouldn't flip out another SR for you...
This is a selected scout, and you have a lowered price for a daily single scout at 10 dream stones instead of 20. In the above picture, I have already scouted once at 10 dream stones, hence the next has reset to 20 again.
Friend point scouts have a free single scout daily. After which you can scout a single time at 300 gacha points or 10 times at 3000 gacha points. In this scout, there is a very low percentage of getting something other than N rarity, but you can get a R or even SR card from this scout.

I have been playing this game for 3 weeks or so, and am fortunate enough to have gotten quite a few R and even one SR from this scout!

「Mobage」Yumeiro Cast: Introduction to Gameplay (Part 2/2)!

Saturday, January 7, 2017 / No Comments
Apart from previously mentioned gameplay tactics in part 1/2 here, there are some new areas to note here that are not found in most other games. This is placed under the tab "Theater" which fits with the scenario of this game, which is about the main cast members being part of a musical troupe.
Under the theater tab, you will come to the following screen where you will have your partner on the stage. There would be females seated before the stage too. They will have either yellow stars, rainbow stars or speech bubbles above their heads. Swiping these would give you Gold (stars) or Talk Points.
Each yellow star is worth 5 Gold and they can be used to buy interior decorations or gifts for the cast members. For rainbow stars, you will get an item which you can use as a give for the cast members.

For the interior decoration, you can only change the stage, walls and chairs. You can also add decorations to 8 spots on the floor or on the walls. The decorations typically come under a theme, especially for the stage, walls and chairs. Playing different difficulties of the respective songs would unlock them, but you'll still have to buy the decorations to actually use them.
To spend on the members, you will have to proceed to the Backstage area, which you can access with the larger button on the bottom left. Each player is limited to using this area only 5 times a day and if you wish to access it more, you can refill using staff passes. There are 2 kinds of staff passes -- one refills enough for 1 visit while the other refills for all 5 visits.
This is the backstage area and you tap on a door to reveal the character behind it. You can open all 3 doors and see who the characters are before making your choice. After choosing, tap the character revealed and enter. If you do not like any of the 3, you can leave the backstage area and return at a later time, hoping that the characters would have changed.
In the room, you can give characters items you get from the rewards after completing a song, or from the rainbow stars.

Practicing cards are done with these special cards which you can get at the end of song rewards or from getting goals accomplished such as rewards for getting ranking in songs (B score, etc.). You might get some from rewards through event points as well. These special cards have different rarities -- I have seen N, R and SR (unknown if there are URs for these), and give a lot more exp than usual N rarity cards.
Rs and SRs of cast members give exp as well as skill up. To get a level 1 skill card up to level 2, you will need 2 R cast member cards, each giving 50% chance to skill up. To get a level 2 skill to level 3, you need 4 R cast member cards, each giving 25% chance to skill up. Going by this method, you will require more R cast members and later even SR or UR cards as well.

Note that the cast members used to skill up do not need to be of any specific cards, except of the specific rarity instead. Also, two copies of the same card are needed to awaken a card, but the awakened card is considered as a single copy. Idolising the card for the second time and beyond would increase the level cap by 10 each time, for up to 30.

Sale of N rarity cast members give gacha points, which can then be used to spin more gacha to get N, R or SRs. Sale of single unidolised R cast members give gacha points and 3 exchange tickets. Sale of idolised R cast members give gacha points and 4 exchange tickets. Higher rarity cards will give more exhange tickets, and if I'm not wrong, URs give 20 exchange tickets.

In the exchange shop, you can use these exchange tickets to exchange for unidolised SR cards, special training cards or even 100% AP refill energy bottles. Though you can only exchange for 100% AP refill bottles, there are also 30% and 50% ones too. Although you can use them for refilling AP, you can use Dream Stones for refilling as well, just that you will have to use 5 stones for each refill, making it less worth it when you have these energy bottles as well.
Lastly, with regards to talk points, this is for Star Awakening, which is a feature added only recently into the game. Star awakened members have higher stats and an increased level cap of 20 from 100 to 120.
You will also get a third illustration which you can use; so you can switch between the unidolised, idolised and star awakened illustrations.
To star awaken your UR card, you will have to idolise it first. After which, you will have to collect Talk Points. There are several ways you can get it: From the girls in the theater (speech bubbles), from song rewards after clearing a song, and from logging into the game. After filling up the talk points and clearing all the chats, you will be able to star awaken your card!

Chats are just like a sms/text system to a single character, where you choose one of the 3 options to reply to the cast member's message and await for a reply after that. He will message you once after the talk points hits the limit. Sadly, these messages do not have much connection with each other...
With regards to buying Dream Stones, you can get 6 gems at a lowered price of 100 yen, which is good for those who don't intend to spend that much yet
If you don't mind spending though, you can get the pack of 600 gems at 10,000 yen. With every 10,000 yen purchase, you will get an SR or above ticket to scout. On your third purchase of the 10,000 yen pack, you will also receive a UR scouting ticket to give you a guaranteed UR!
And that's all I have on this Gameplay corner. Next up, I'll talk about some of the scouts available for beginners before doing some wrap-ups and reviews for the different events I have been through!

Popin Cookin: Taiyaki & Dango

Hello fellas!

Today I bring you something a little different; an episode of popin cookin! I was shopping at Liang Court the other day and I spotted popin cookin packs for sale! They're usually quite expensive I think, ranging from six dollars to ten generally, but these were on sale for about five bucks only!!

There were only two of the series available, and today I'm doing the Taiyaki and Dango one! It's super cute, and is perfect for a lazy afternoon when you have nothing better to do. One thing to note though, it's better to check if a microwave or oven is needed, since a bit of cooking is required for the taiyaki.

The instructions are printed on the back of the box in Japanese, but if you need an English translation, they have a helpful link for you to follow!

The packaging is very user-friendly, plus almost every bit of the packaging can be reused for something else. For example, the general packaging doubles up as a plate to display the foods, and also for you to measure out the portions needed.

Okiedokie, let's get started!

First off, split all the small packaging up. The color of the powder mix doesn't match up to the colors on the box, but I'll list them down:

Orange: Taiyaki
Red: Strawberry
Pink: Mochi
Blue: Drink
Brown: Chocolate
Purple: Dango syrup

The next step of preparation before you start the actual 'cooking' steps is to first cut up all the things requested. Cut up the white plastic box, and the general plastic sheet too. This is so you don't end up holding the mochi dough and having no measurement sheet to place them on later.

As per the instructions, I did the mixing for the strawberry jelly that was supposed to go into the daifuku. Once I opened the package, the strawberry smell just filled the whole room. It wasn't an unpleasant smell, rather, I thought it smelt quite legit. So, a little bit of water, strawberry powder, and let the whole mixture set while you get the other items ready. It's quite cute because there are little bumps on the side of the berry, much like the seeds.

Next up was the mochi powder! I think I might have been a little short of water as the mochi was still quite patchy. It was workable though, so I didn't want to try to add and ruin everything. Split the mochi into two portions- one for the daifuku and one for the dango.

Then was the difficult part of mixing the taiyaki. Actually the difficult part was just the microwaving bit, I think I under-microwaved mine ): It was still quite squishy when I took it out of the mold. But it looks not bad, eh?

Then I had to mix the chocolate, but first I had to clean out the mixing container, which is a pain cos the taiyaki mix was very sticky. The chocolate was AMAZING tho, it smells amazing but the taste, meh. Next was to mix the sugar syrup for the dango, and luckily I could use the taiyaki mold for this.

Then came the assembling. Be careful with the dango sauce because it is super sweet and sticky, and I accidentally spill it all over my shirt. The chocolate sauce is used for both the taiyaki and the daifuku.

OH last is the drink! Simple pimple, just mix the powder into water and tadah! Blue soda!

Taste test:

The daifuku was really really nice, I ate the whole thing in one bite, and regretted not taking smaller bites ):

The taiyaki was not bad, but the texture of the dough could have been better. Prolly my fault with the cooking. I took four bites to eat the whole thing, and was actually quite filling. The dango was probably the worst of them all, the syrup was really too sweet. I suppose if you put lesser syrup it might be better. The soda was so nice!!!! Tasted like the ones you can get from daiso.

Overall not too bad for something meant for kids (I think!) If you have an afternoon off and are looking for something fun to do, you should really try this. Next up I'll be doing the donut version, so stay tuned for that!

Nerd out!
