Waifu? Here's My Husbando

Waifu and Husbando. A trend that has been around for quite an age. It basically means who you would choose as your wife or husband if you had the ability to marry an anime character, a manga character, a video game character, etc.

So, as the title states, this is a post about my husbando! /swoons
You handsome devil
Tadah~ My self claimed husbando, Aomine Daiki. Of course, there are other characters that I admire and adore from all different mangas, but Aomine from Kuroko no Basuke has got to be my ultimate favorite amongst them all.

Okay, a quick bio of him:

Now, if you read/watch the manga/anime (of which i haven't caught up to either, cries) you'll know that he is basically a pain in the neck, and that's putting it quite mildly. He skips training (and sometimes matches), eats other people's bentos, and likes to break rings. Plus he has a love for ahem, certain magazines. Also, don't forget his short temper.

But he's shown to be quite the protective and caring guy when he wants to, especially to Kuroko and his former Teiko teammates. Or maybe it's his subconscious being nice when he has a certain level of respect for someone. Either way, that's one of the qualities that bumped him up my favorite list. Like when he brought his shoes for Kagami because Kagami couldn't find a pair in his size (you know what they say about guys with big feet..). Of course they had to have a one on one and all that, but even though Kagami lost Aomine still gave him the shoes. And the other time he made Momoi cry and then he had this 'horrified' expression when he realized what he had done. I laughed.

so adorable
Of course, I may be simplifying things, and my biased mind may have modified certain scenes for memory keepsakes, but well.

I can't deny that I have a soft spot for douchebags with sad backstories, and Aomine fits perfectly into that category. Aw man, his backstory just breaks my heart. Long story short, he was this outgoing, adorable little kid who loved playing basketball, but as he trained more and more, he realized he became so strong that his opponents lost the will to fight back. Eventually it came to the point where he gave up looking for a rival, and that was also the point where this famous phrase was born: “The only one who can beat me, is me.”

Side note: When he lost to Kagami, I cried.

Sigh. Moving on, I absolutely love his playing style. No words can describe the beauty of his movements. But if I had to, I would say his movements are fluid, and unpredictable. Oh goodness, his crossovers, those spin moves, the speed changes, I like to watch his matches on replay. Oh, I absolutely love all the match scenes, even if they're not Aomine's. The animation and play is actually rather realistic.

so gorgeous
Next, physical appearance.

Tall, handsome, muscular, an arrogant smirk on that chiseled face. The face of a basketball player. And yes, I do have another thing for sportsmen. His casual attire for summer usually consists of a loose, white tank top and tan cargo pants. In the winter, he wears a light woolen shirt, a black hoodie and a dark bodywarmer (I googled this part, I'm sorry Aomine, I have failed.) Also, in an Alternate Universe, his profession would be a policeman, and if you haven't guessed by now, I like my men in uniforms. And in animal form (don't ask me about this), he's portrayed as a black panther. How apt.

hnnng
Ahh, I wish I had an Aomine in real life. I once told my good friend that, and her reply was: “No, Aomine would make such a horrible boyfriend! He'll bring you on food dates and make you pay after that!” I have a feeling that would be true, but still..
